SkyRidge Medical Center's Laboratory performs over 400,000 procedures a year. Divided into five specialty testing areas, the lab functions as one of the main diagnostic service sites of the hospital. Sample processes include blood, body fluids and excretions, and tissues from inpatients and outpatients.

The Pathology department at SkyRidge is housed in the Laboratory. Pathologists, medical doctors trained specifically to diagnose disease, identify the type and degree of disease process present in a given specimen.

Blood Bank

The medical center Blood Bank, which functions as a section of the clinical laboratory, concentrates on matching donor and directed units of blood and blood products to a recipient patient.
